A homophone is a word that is pronounced the same as another word but differs in meaning, and may differ in spelling. The words may be spelled the same, such as rose (flower) and rose (past tense of “rise”), or differently, such as two, and too. More info:
In this video, homophones with different spelling (also called heterographs) were used.
Homophones depend on the speaker’s accent. These words are homophones in general american english.

Color Colour
11:39 chase/chaise NOT homophones
12:20 ether/either NOT homophones
26:47 "loose" is NOT a homophone to Lew's, lose or loos
"Race" and "Raise" are homophones with each other.
"Race" and "Raise" are pronounced the same way "rās". so they're homophones with each other. The spelling differences are "race" uses C, but it's a soft C as the following letter is E, so it's pronounced the same as "raise"; and "raise" has an extra I, while "race" don't.
"Rice" and "Rise" are homophones with each other.
"Rice" and "Rise" are pronounced the same way "rīs", so they're homophones with each other. The third letter is the only spelling difference, in which "rice" uses C, but it's still pronounced the same as "rise" because that's a soft C as the following letter is E.
